Grazias Paula Reed appointed Harvey Nichols' fashion director

Grazia 's style director Paula Reed has been appointed group fashion director of Harvey Nichols.

Reed has held her position weekly glossy Grazia since its launch in 2005 and has become a prominent fixture in the fashion world, often appearing on television as a style authority. She will leave the role to take up her new position on September 21.

She will report to Harvey Nichols chief executive, Joseph Wan, who has said of her appointment: "I am delighted that Paula is joining the senior management team here at Harvey Nichols, bringing with her a wealth of experience gained in a number of Fashion Director roles across key fashion titles including, The Sunday Times, Harpers & Queen, InStyle UK and Grazia as well as relationships she has formed in the fashion industry that go back over twenty years. Reed joins a growing number of high-profile fashion editors who have jumped from the glossy pages and into the retail field. Harriet Quick, British Vogue 's ex-fashion features director, recently moved to luxury shopping destination Luxup, whilst former fashion editor at the same publication, Kate Phelan, ended her 18-year tenure at Vogue last year to become Topshop's fashion director. Likewise, former editor of Harper's Bazaar's, Lucy Yeomans, recently left the publication to join Net-A-Porter as editor-in-chief of their magazine and the Financial Times 's former deputy fashion editor, Nicola Copping, left the paper in 2010 to edit Harrods's online magazine, The Review .

Watch: Inside Jason Wu's atelier

He was catapulted into the spotlight when America's First Lady, Michelle Obama, wore one of his gowns to presidential inauguration ceremony in 2009. Since then, Wu's label has gone from strength to strength, quickly establishing him as a designer to make a date with every New York Fashion Week.

Having added the likes of Hollywood starlets Emma Stone, Michelle Williams, January Jones to his celebrity dressing portfolio, there is no stopping the Taiwanese-born designer.

Wu let the cameras capture him adding the finishing touches to his newest collection, for Resort 2013.

"I was inspired by two things: the idea of a man made nature mixed with the elegance of 60s couture shapes. I used Swarovski Elements to create "mechanical" bugs that also bring to mind 60s fine jewellery," he explains.

Every detail counts for Wu, and he believes that his collections should tell a story.

Oh, and as you can see, he's quite a dab hand with a needle - surprisingly, not all designers are.

Looks like the reported lovebirds were left unbothered by commentary from Sarkozy's ex-wife, who previously dubbed the their relationship "grotesque." Olsen, who is said to be dating the 42-year-old Olivier, went for a stroll in the West Village last week with the managing director of the Carlyle Group and one of his daughters. According to Us Weekly, Olivier "wrapped his arms around both" of his girls, each wearing a black top, grayish jeans, and colorful sneakers. Mary-Kate is the one on our left, talking on the phone and smoking a cigarette.

Bonjour Tristesse: Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis Are No Longer

Depp's publicist told Entertainment Tonight that the two have "amicably separated" after fourteen years together, adding, "Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children." We'd offer Johnny a shoulder to cry on; however, he tends not to show up when fashion folk are around. But if either of them needs anything ...

Look at the Royal Ascot Fashion Police in Their Smart Purple Outfits

ASCOT, ENGLAND - JUNE 19: A Dress Code Assistant (R) looks at a racegoer at the main entrance to Royal Ascot on June 19, 2012 in Ascot, England. The five-day meeting is one of the highlights of the horse racing calendar and the Season. Thousands of race fans are expected to attend the five day meeting. (Photo by Peter Macdiarmid/Getty Images)

As promised, 30 employees lined the entrances to the horse races, ready to hand out free fascinators, pashminas, and ties to attendees who broke this year's new dress code. The fashion police themselves wore purple dresses with matching cropped jackets and feathered hats, black pumps, badges that read "Dress Code Assistant," and expressions that read "I don't think so." One of the women they pulled aside was Anneka Tanaka-Svenska, clad in "a strapless short white dress with pantaloon trousers by HMH Couture and an elaborate bird cage-style hat," the Press Association writes. Tanaka-Svenska said, "I always turn up with the biggest hat. And at least this one is covering my head." Ho, ho! That's just some saucy Royal Ascot humor for you.

The Critics’ Choice Television Awards took place in Beverly Hills last night, coaxing some of TV's heavy hitters into pretty dresses and onto the red carpet. Because it's a fairly relaxed event — not even close to awards season and mostly an industry affair — attendees gussied themselves up, but not overly so. Stars like Christina Hendricks and Ginnifer Goodwin got to dominate the red carpet, which they attempted to do in some questionable black ensembles, while some lesser-known newcomers like Sarah Hyland and Ariel Winter looked appropriately pretty. Click through our red-carpet analysis of Lucy Liu, RuPaul, Allison Brie, and more in our slideshow.

Erin Wasson wore a gown from Etro's fall 2012 collection to the premiere of her movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter at AMC Loews Lincoln Square in New York City last night. She accessorized with Chopard jewelry.

What do you think of the mix of mesh and print? Does the look come together? Or does it make you want to slump in your chair with your hat over your face like Lincoln on the poster in the background?

Joan Juliet Buck Doesnt Write for Vogue Anymore

Joan Juliet Buck, who told NPR in April that her Vogue profile of Syria's first lady, Asma al-Assad, came about because the subject "was extremely thin and very well-dressed and therefore, qualified to be in Vogue," was quietly dropped from the magazine's masthead back in February, according to WWD. A spokeswoman for the magazine was characteristically tight-lipped on the matter, explaining that Buck's contract simply ran out. (She's been a contributor since 1973 and listed on the masthead for the past seven years.) Buck told WWD that she hasn't seen Anna Wintour in more than a year and that she's currently writing for W.

Diego Della Valle continues to gear up for Schiaparelli's big, expensive relaunch this fall by hiring Camilla Schiavone as the company's CEO, according to WWD. Schiavone comes from L’Oréal, where she worked as brand manager for the company's fragrance division, making her a good fit for Schiaparelli's initial emphasis on luxury cosmetics, scents, and accessories. The brand is apparently on target to name their new designer in September.

Louis Vuittons Hangover Part II Lawsuit Was Dismissed

Back in December, Louis Vuitton filed a trademark suit against Warner Bros. for featuring fake Louis Vuitton luggage in The Hangover Part II (which Zach Galifianakis calls "Lewis Vuitton," har har). Warner Bros. not only refused to share any profits from the movie with Vuitton, but also turned down Vuitton's request that they alter the LV logos for the DVD release. In March, the studio filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that the fake luggage was "artistically relevant" as part of a running joke in the movie, and on Friday the motion to dismiss was granted. So basically, the "running joke" just got much funnier.

Cat Marnell on Jane Pratt, Her Book, and Splitting From xoJane.com

Talking to infamous editor Cat Marnell, known for ruthlessly honest, intelligent writing about beauty and, by proxy, her own drug addiction, is a surreal experience. She's clever, candid, funny, and says that she's on speed a few minutes into our conversation. "I'm always on drugs," she repeats unapologetically. Marnell announced via "Page Six" last Thursday that she's no longer working as the beauty editor at Jane Pratt's website, xoJane.com. (Her explanation: "I couldn’t spend another summer meeting deadlines behind a computer at night when I could be on the rooftop of Le Bain looking for shooting stars and smoking angel dust with my friends.") That same day, Pratt published a heartfelt post on her own website, titled "Cat's Gone," that lamented Marnell's inability to get sober and do her job. "Though I would love for her to take care of that brilliant brain of hers, I've always had a Libertarian view of drugs and suicide, that people can do whatever they want with their own bodies," Pratt wrote. XoJane.com's publishers, Say Media, had sent Marnell to rehab in April.

Exclusive First Look: Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss Cover July W

W put Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss on their two July covers, hailing them both as "The New Face of Fashion." In the corresponding interview, Kloss discusses her height (6 foot, 1 inch in her bare feet): "I'm eight inches taller than the average person walking down the street. I'm somewhat in my own cloud," she explains. "Every time I see Karl Lagerfeld, he's always like, 'Karlie, have you stopped growing yet? Are you taller?'" While such proportions would turn most humans into gangly, stumbling giraffes, Kloss credits her formal ballet training for curbing any awkwardness. "You learn to control every aspect of your muscles, your face, your toes, your fingernails," she says. Fingernails! We chewed off a hangnail earlier this morning, but that's probably not what she means.

Did Anna Wintour Veto Sarah Jessica Parkers Furniture?

NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 18: Editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour attends the "One Man, Two Guvnors" Broadway opening night at the Music Box Theatre on April 18, 2012 in New York City. (Photo by Cindy Ord/Getty Images)

Sarah Jessica Parker's brownstone was deep-cleaned and rearranged before President Obama's apparently wine-soaked visit last night, and some furniture was banished to storage to make room for all 50 guests. Now the Post reports that Anna Wintour saw to it personally that some specific pieces got the boot. Says an unnamed source, "Anna was going crazy about the decorating. She was having a lot [of] furniture removed and sending all of SJP’s tchotchkes upstairs." Also: “Some of the stuff in the house was shabby chic, and let’s just say, Anna wanted less shabby, and more chic."

She accessorized with a silk bolero, black pumps, and a patent leather handbag. Earlier in the day, she stepped out in a floral dress, pink cardigan, and yellow flats to visit the One World Trade Center site with President Obama, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and others. On-the-Street Beauty Road Test: FACE Stockholm for J.Crew Lipsticks

FACE Stockholm has teamed up with J.Crew (you know, the company whose creative director, Jenna Lyons, once paired camo-print pants and a sparkly top) to collaborate on some makeup. This time (they've done nail polishes together before), their beauty spawn is a couple of lipsticks — Chili Flake (a bold, orange-red) and French Martini (a sheer coral-pink). These shades are available in stores and online starting today, but we hit the streets of New York earlier this week to see what the ladies of downtown Manhattan had to say about them. Click through our slideshow to see if you agree with their reviews.

Cindy Barshop Hopes Teens Will Bring Her Waxing Kits to Sleep-Away Camp

Former Real Housewives cast member Cindy Barshop, champion of the Vajewel and owner of Completely Bare waxing salons, is launching a line of at-home waxing kits sold at CVS. So, instead of suffering the indignity of paying a stranger to rip hair off your vagina, you can just do it yourself in your own living room with a bottle of tequila at your elbow. In comparison to a professional wax, Barshop's kits are quite affordable — each retails for less than $17. But, as someone who knows someone whose disastrous at-home wax attempt resulted in her resorting to paint thinner to pry the strips off (yes, she went to a hardware store with wax all over her bikini line under her clothes), we're cautious of trying this at home. But Barshop is convinced that this will be a hit, particularly among specific demographics.

Video: See a Bunch of Wedding Disasters Just in Time for Wedding Season

Every bride hopes for a perfect wedding day, but when you combine a nervous wreck, a white dress, and loads of money, shit happens. If there's a long train, it's going to be stepped on and will subsequently tear; meanwhile, any red wine in the vicinity will wind up down the bodice. With all of the heightened emotions surrounding the big day, a slap (or several) to the face may be in order, provided the bride's not having a complete and utter panic attack. Finally, not to get all gross on you, but who can find the strength to properly use the bathroom clad in such an ornate and heavy gown? (While Bridesmaids may have had a small toilet problem, it's not just those ladies who needed to use the facilities in creative ways!) From Sixteen Candles to Sex and the City, here are the best onscreen wedding disasters.

Sarah Jessica Parker Is Getting Her Furniture, Tchotchkes Back This Very Moment

Regardless of Anna Wintour's involvement, Sarah Jessica Parker had to move a crapload of furniture, housewares, and "tchotchkes" out of her West Village brownstone in preparation for President Obama's fund-raising dinner last night. We watched her belongings get whisked away on Tuesday, and we have evidence that they're being returned this very moment. Our wonderful video editor, Sarah Frank, just happened to be walking across the intersection of West 4th and West 10th Streets when she saw two large moving trucks unloading things onto the sidewalk. She took this picture of a large, thoroughly taped-up box that, according to its label, contained a side chair and sofa pillows. With any luck, the Parker-Broderick household will be back to normal, pillows fluffed and chairs dusted, by dinnertime.

The company called itself "very satisfied with the efficient and diligent collaboration established with the national gendarmerie" that already saw two staffers fired and a dozen more people arrested yesterday after police found an atelier stocked with leather skins, WWD reports. The crime ring did at least $22 million in sales producing fraudulent bags, and no word yet on what Hermès plans to do with what's left of them, though we have some ideas.

LONDON - ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 20: Tom Ford attends a reception hosted by Samantha Cameron for London Fashion Week at 10 Downing Street on September 20, 2011 in London, England. (Photo by Samir Hussein/Getty Images)

"When you do a runway show you have to amp things up in a way so that they read from a great distance — so that they are designed for photography rather than for a consumer ... And what I wanted to do was create clothes for real people," he told Grazia's Paula Reed. (Real people like Beyoncé and Julianne Moore, of course.) "I think that's one reason why so many people in the world have switched off of fashion. They look at it as a spectator sport.  They wanna see what everyone is wearing and how it looks, but then they put on their t-shirt and their jeans."

HOLLYWOOD, CA - JUNE 14: Actress Hailee Steinfeld arrives at the Young Hollywood Awards at Hollywood Athletic Club on June 14, 2012 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic)

Hailee Steinfeld wore a white top with a large floral appliqué and matching pants from Prabal Gurung's fall 2012 collection to the Young Hollywood Awards in L.A. last night. She accessorized with a black and gold clutch and Brian Atwood heels.

Does this outfit seem too old for the teenage actress? Or do you think it's a refreshing change from her usual girly dresses?

Daphne Guinness Looks Uncomfortable Even While Napping

Daphne Guinness took a load off backstage at yesterday's Graduate Fashion Week gala finale in London, where she was serving as a judge. We're not sure what's most impressive about this photo: that she has the ability to nap while sitting on a hard cement floor in heel-less McQueen shoes or that she had no qualms about smushing her hair with those big headphones. (But really — not even a neck pillow?)

Mad Men Fashion Recap: Peggy's Power Suits

Last night's Mad Men finale was a poetic conclusion to an explosive season, and the outfits were a nice mix of new (Peggy) and old (Joan). Marie made a good showing in her trim monochromatic dresses and skirt-suits during her visit for "Easter " (actually, Roger Sterling), while Megan hit a new low by staggering around drunkenly in lacy floral pajamas. Joan recycled a few of her mainstays, including a floral blue dress from two episodes ago, and Ginsberg wore another stained shirt. Finally, it appears that our girl Peggy went shopping — praise be! Click ahead for our recap, complete with a parting shot of Roger's white derrière.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to Reportedly Stand Trial for Tax Evasion

Designer Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce attend the Dolce & Gabbana "La Bella Estate" Cocktail Launch during Milan Fashion Week Menswear Autumn/Winter 2012 on January 14, 2012 in Milan, Italy.

Turns out a Milan judge accepted the prosecutors' appeal after the designers' previous tax-evasion case was dismissed last year. According to Reuters, Gabbana tweeted on Friday, "Everyone knows that we haven't done anything." Today, he retweeted this message posted by his brand's in-house blog: "Madonna boob flashes and rumours about filming video in Rome with Tom Munro" — so it seems the duo is taking the "pretend it doesn't exist" approach to the new development.

Americans Spend Less on Clothes, Own More Than Ever

According to a new book by Elizabeth Cline, Overdressed, Americans spend a lower percentage of their income than ever on apparel (an average of $1,700 a year, per household), but own more clothing items than previous generations. In other words, our closets are bursting with cheap crap, but we knew that already.

Adam Kimmel to Take a Year Off

Designer Adam Kimmel (L) and actress Leelee Sobieski attend the 2012 TFF Awards during the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival at the Conrad Hotel on April 26, 2012 in New York City.

The menswear designer plans to put his label on hold after his fall 2012 collection ships, WWD reports. In a statement, Kimmel said he will "use this time to enrich my vision, spend time with my family, and explore a number of creative arenas that have interested me while I'm still young." We'd rather be kicking it with Leelee Sobieski, too.

Christian Louboutin Loses Another Red-Sole Lawsuit, This Time in France

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - APRIL 28: Designer Christian Louboutin poses for a photo at the grand opening of the new Christian Louboutin boutique on April 28, 2010 in West Hollywood, California. (Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images)

A French judge ruled in favor of Zara last week in a lawsuit filed by Christian Louboutin regarding his red-sole trademark, according to WWD. The suit began in 2011, when Louboutin tried to bar Zara from selling a particular pair of $70 red-soled heels because they might create "consumer confusion." The judge  initially sided with the plaintiff, but after Zara challenged the decision, the court of appeals ruled in June 2011 that Louboutin's trademark registration was too vague (it was suggested that he might specify a Pantone number instead). Last week, the Cour de Cassation upheld the court's June decision and sentenced Louboutin to pay Zara £2,500, or about $3,600. This hardly makes a dent in Zara's legal fees, but it's yet another blow to Louboutin's red-sole trademark, which has suffered a beating in courts over the past year. The shoe designer is currently in the process of appealing a similar case against Yves Saint Laurent that he lost in New York last summer.

Before tourists lounged in concrete "parks" in the middle of Broadway, Times Square was the provenance of b-boys, pimps, and trannies, all of which have been captured in The Forty Deuce: The Times Square Photographs of Bill Butterworth by Beatriz and Hilton Arial Ruiz, published by powerHouse Books. The collection of candid portraits from the early eighties depicts everyone who defined the neighborhood, from the spandex-clad sex workers to the hip-hop crews decked out in tracksuits and sneakers. Even the young Vincent Gallo (yes, that's him!) made trips to the nexus of sin. Prints from the book as well as an exhibition of never-before-seen shots are on view at the powerHouse Arena from June 12 through July 1. Click through our slideshow for a glimpse at the less Disneyfied era, and if you can't make it to the exhibit, you can always buy the book.

The Cut Works Out With Simon Doonan

Don't be fooled by Simon Doonan's petite stature: The man is a weight-slinging, iron-pumping machine, and he works out religiously as part of his daily schedule. For the first installment of our new fitness feature, "The Cut Works Out With ...", we tagged along with the Barneys creative ambassador at Crunch on a recent rainy morning to see how he maintains his physique. No sooner had he arrived in his sunglasses and snug Ed Hardy tee, a fanny-pack slung around his waist, when he bopped over to the elliptical and began pumping away while we struggled to keep up.

Ukraine to Get Its Very Own Vogue

The glossy will go to print in the country within the next year, marking the twentieth edition of the magazine. Condé Nast International chairman and chief executive officer Jonathan Newhouse said, "Kiev is booming, and there is a strong market demand for luxury products and the experience Vogue can offer the reader." And you certainly can't deny a nation a Vogue!

Jessica Chastain Found the Silver Lining

Jessica Chastain attends the 66th Annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre on June 10, 2012 in New York City.

Jessica Chastain wore an embellished and partially sheer dress from Marios Schwab's fall 2012 collection to last night's 66th annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. She accessorized with peep-toe heels by Giuseppe Zanotti.

The actress isn't exactly known for taking red-carpet risks — did this one pay off? Or is this dress better suited for the runway?

Lunchtime Beauty Q&A: Which Beauty Balm Is the Best?

Welcome to our new lunchtime beauty post, where I'll give real, non-cheesy solutions to your cosmetic queries. No topic is too weird, petty, or gross. My job is to help you look the way you want, regardless of what that means.

Judging by the sheer volume of questions that I've been bombarded with since my arrival, Cut staffers have been beauty-deprived. (In the past week, I've furnished Charlotte with enough moisturizing products that she could fill a bathtub, and Sally has graciously volunteered to be my de-frizz-product guinea pig.) For the next few weeks, I'll be answering my co-workers' queries about all things hair, makeup, skin, and so forth. After that, you can submit your beauty questions in the comments section. (Bear in mind that I am not a licensed dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or therapist — but I'll do my best.)

Okay, onto today's topic: WHICH BEAUTY BALM SHOULD I BUY? And yes, that question was e-mailed to me in caps. Like I said, beauty-deprived.

Is Anna Wintour Angling for an Ambassador Post in London?

WASHINGTON - MARCH 14: Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine (R), arrives with Shelby Bryan for a State Dinner in honor of British Prime Minister David Cameron at the White House on March 14, 2012 in Washington, DC. An article in Saturday’s Guardian mused that Anna Wintour might be rewarded with a political appointment in return for all the money she’s raising for Obama’s reelection campaign. Namely, that she’d be named the U.S. ambassador in England, a post that’s expected to open up later this year.

At first blush, the possibility of Wintour leaving Vogue for a jaunt back to her native London seems absurd, but the Guardian makes a good case for it. The post in question is traditionally reserved for deep-pocketed “friends” of the president, as it’s a cushy job that doesn’t require much heavy lifting when it comes to diplomacy. Recent history supports this: The position is currently occupied by 74-year-old Louis Susman, a retired vice-president of Citigroup, whose fund-raising abilities during Obama’s 2008 campaign earned him the nickname "the vacuum cleaner." During the Bush administration, the spot was held by wealthy supporters William Farish and Robert Tuttle.

NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 04: Tory Burch attends 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards at Alice Tully Hall on June 4, 2012 in New York City. (Photo by James Devaney/WireImage)

Tory Burch replaces Rachel Roy as a monthly advice columnist for July's InStyle magazine, where she'll help readers solve pressing conundrums like what kind of purse to get if you're a 35-year-old mother of two. (According to WWD, Burch recommends Céline’s $3,250 Trapeze bag.) She also says that caftans are great for women with long torsos and short legs, but then again, she's Tory Burch — aren't caftans the answer to everything?

H&M Said to Collaborate With Margiela on Holiday Collection

H&M is rumored to be collaborating with Paris-based fashion house Maison Martin Margiela for a holiday collection, reports WWD. Famous for its avant-garde, deconstructed look — the spring 2012 show had one model walking down the runway holding a satin sheet around herself — Margiela has been designed by an in-house team since its Belgian founder left quietly sometime before 2009. The house is currently run by its majority stakeholder, Italian industrialist Renzo Rosso.

To Discuss: Marc Jacobs and Harry Louiss Contrasting Hairdos

NEW YORK - JUNE 07: Marc Jacobs and Harry Louis arrives at The New York Public Library on June 07, 2012 in New York City, New York. (Photo By Josiah Kamau/BuzzFoto/FilmMagic)

Marc Jacobs brought Harry Louis, his reported Brazilian porn star boyfriend, to all sorts of events around New York this week (here they are at last night's amfAR gala, for example). As we can all attest, it's been rough hair weather lately — humid, with lots of scattered showers and thunderstorms — so it's understandable that they've loaded up on gels and mousses and the like. But isn't it interesting how their respective hairdos look so similar, but yet opposite at the same time? Harry's hair is like a wave at the peak of its crest, while Marc's is more like one that has broken and is lapping nicely across the beach of his forehead, if you will. Also, their hair color is remarkably similar. Anyway, food for thought at 5:30 p.m. on a sunny June Friday.

Jennifer Aniston wore a white dress by Burberry to the 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony honoring Shirley MacLaine at Sony Pictures Studios in California yesterday. She accessorized with a Valentino clutch.

Doesn't this dress look like what would happen if Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow's Oscar dresses mated and had a baby? Happy Friday, everybody!

Remembering Nolan Miller: The Best of Dynasty Through the Years

Since its heyday, Dynasty has become synonymous with eighties power-dressing. We'll take pretty much any excuse to celebrate the unapologetically flashy outfits that costume designer Nolan Miller was best known for, but in the wake of his death this week, we honor his work with a survey of Dynasty's most memorable looks. His garments were as brash and glamorous as the devious, powerful ladies who wore them both on and offscreen; he'll go down in history as a designer who could make women look fearless. Enjoy our roundup of shoulder pads, gold lamé, furs, leather, and other over-the-top costumes Miller created.

Gianni Versaces Old South Beach Mansion Listed for $125 Million

The designer purchased Casa Casuarina in 1992 and was tragically killed outside five years later. According to the Miami Herald, the property, now owned by entrepreneur Peter Loftin, was "built in 1930 by architect Alden Freeman, has 10 bedrooms, 11 baths and a 54 foot mosaic pool lined in 24-karat gold. It's chock full of frescos and statues with a large open air courtyard." How do you clean a gold-lined pool?

Kate Middeton Wore $75 Fake Diamond Earrings to the Queens Jubilee

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - JUNE 05: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge leave Westminster Hall after a Diamond Jubilee Luncheon given for The Queen by The Livery Companies of The City of London on June 5, 2012 in London, England. For only the second time in its history the UK celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of a monarch. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates the 60th anniversary of her ascension to the throne today with a carriage procession and a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral. (Photo by Peter Byrne - WPA Pool/Getty Images)

Duchess Kate wore a pair of sparkly earrings to Tuesday's Diamond Jubilee festivities that were, ironically, not made from diamonds. US Weekly reports that they're a combination of cubic zirconia and "ground-up freshwater pearls reconstituted with resin," available as part of designer Belinda Hadden's "Fabulous Fakes" collection. They only cost £48 ($75), should you want to get them yourself. Just kidding, obviously! They're entirely sold out already.

The CFDA Incubators Second Class Is Now in Session

The CFDA Incubator's second class held an open house for editors and buyers in its 209 West 38th Street workspace yesterday. The group, announced back in August, includes Arielle Shapiro of Ari Dein, Daniel Vosovic, Doug and Ben Burkman of Burkman Bros, Christian Cota, Emanuela Duca, Luis Fernandez of NUMBER:Lab, Reece Solomon of Reece Hudson, Ricky Hendry and Marc Daniels of Isaora, Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein of Timo Weiland, and Whitney Pozgay of WhiT — who managed to squeeze in after some of the original names dropped out. (Antonio Azzuolo and the Lake & Stars mysteriously disappeared from the roster at some point.) The third floor "fishbowl" or "dorms" — as many of them refer to it, with its wood floors, brick walls, and multiple break rooms — is a welcome change for the designers, as most operated out of their apartments prior to moving in last month. The CFDA even secured them each a reduced rent of $2,000 per month — this is still New York, after all.

Harvey Nichols Ad Shows Models Peeing Themselves With Excitement

In case you haven't walked down a sidewalk or gone on the Internet lately, pretty much every store is having a gigantic sale right now. To set their sale apart from all those other ones, high-end British department store Harvey Nichols sent out a mailer this week that showed models with wet spots on their crotches. The fliers were printed with the words "The Harvey Nichols sale: try to contain your excitement."

Photojournalist Steve McCurry Will Shoot the 2013 Pirelli Calendar

The 40th annual Pirelli calendar will be shot by photojournalist Steve McCurry, according to Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera. McCurry is a photojournalist who gained international recognition when, in 1984, he disguised himself in native clothing and sneaked across the Pakistan border into rebel-controlled Afghanistan just before the Russians invaded. He hid rolls of film by sewing them into his clothing, and the images he captured there — including the famous National Geographic cover photo Afghan Girl — won him numerous awards. Needless to say, photographing naked supermodels is a rather different assignment. The shoot reportedly took place in Brazil in May, and Modelinia reports that Karlie Kloss is supposedly included in the 2013 cast.

Michael Kors Spent His Prom Night at Studio 54; Another YSL Film in the Works

Michael Kors traded his senior prom for a night at Studio 54: "I wrapped a girlfriend of mine in hot pink gauze, a strapless pareo, a harem pant, flower behind the ear. I was wearing a piece of raw silk jersey wrapped into a diaper pant with a panama hat, a burlap jacket, and I took three luggage straps, wrapped them around my waist and my thigh (which was considerably smaller then) and we got to the door at Studio 54 and I'm sure they were like, 'These kids are fabulous!'" Non-judge Bryanboy apparently gets so emotional, baby, on the set of America's Next Top Model. According to Kelly Cutrone: "He cares so much about the contestants, he cries whenever someone is booted off. He's not sobbing or anything. It's not like he spends the whole show crying. He just tears up when they have to go." [NYO]
