Chloe Moretz bags age-appropriate fashion campaign

When Hollywood teen Hailee Steinfeld was announced as the new face of Miu Miu last year - aged just 14 - many a set of eyebrows were raised. Although the Oscar-nominated actress's campaign depicted her eating pizza and lying on a stack of glittery heels, certain images were deemed inappropriate - not to mention the bafflement of using someone so young to promote a luxury brand.

Hot on Hailee's heels in the new generation of red carpet newcomers was Chloe Moretz - the 500 Days of Summer star partial to a Stella McCartney, Chanel or Dolce & Gabbana frock. Moretz was announced as Italian label MaxMara's 'Face of the Future', and then all went quiet. Until now.

Moretz, now 15, has been signed up as the face of American casualwear retailer AĆ©ropostale. Specialising in selling basics to style-conscious teenagers across shopping malls in the US, the brand couldn't be further from the glitz and glamour of the red carpet. Chloe, who is currently filming a remake of horror novel Carrie , will appear in advertising campaigns, curate looks online and tweet about the brand.

"She's extremely interested in fashion" a spokesperson for the retailer told WWD . "She sits in the front row at all high-end fashion shows. She'll judge contests for us and be the spokesperson for our Teens for Jeans campaign."

The level-headed teen is the first to voice how she considers herself too young to 'do a Steinfeld'. "I am only 15," she recently told Stylelist . "If I do one now, then what am I going to do when I'm 20. I'm still pretty new to all of this, and I don't want to pile everything in the first few years. I want something to look forward to."
