French Olympic 2012 equestrian team hot to trot in Hermes

Hermès started out selling saddlery to the elite almost 200 years ago, and whilst the buzz surrounding its must-have bags might have eclipsed its equestrian-based origins, the brand is going back to what it does best for this month's Olympic Games.

The luxury label, famous for naming its iconic bags after Grace Kelly and Jane Birkin, is providing the French Olympic equestrian show jumping and eventing team with riding jackets. A sketch depicting the design reveals a navy, blazer-style jacket, punctuated with red lapels. A light and flexible technical fabric has been chosen by the company's in-house equestrian department, allowing for more comfortable movement.

With Team G.B outfitted by Stella McCartney and the USA in Ralph Lauren, let the 'Fashion Olympics' begin - and may the chicest team win.
