Adidas Originals X Opening Ceremony unveil Olympic collection

If, like us, you're struggling to muster any great enthusiasm about the upcoming Olympic Games, don't worry, Opening Ceremony are here to help.

To celebrate the 2012 Games, the aptly-named New York department store has teamed up with Adidas Originals to create a premium capsule collection inspired by the sports brand's iconic silhouettes.

Borrowing elements from swim and cycling attire to produce a range of sporty separates, bathing suits and footwear, the collection is easily the best 'Olympic-inspired' offering we've seen yet.

From reversible ponchos in punchy prints to blazers, swimwear, hidden-wedge hi-tops and jelly sandals, the collection, much of which is unisex, perfectly marries Opening Ceremony's signature, much-loved aesthetic with Adidas' knowledge of sportswear.

The Adidas Originals X Opening Ceremony collection will be available at the Opening Ceremony pop-up store, which will be situated in Covent Garden from July 19. The store will also be releasing a collection of unique pieces by Proenza Schouler, Chloe Sevigny and Pamela Love amongst others, as well as a sportswear-inspired line with Topshop, which will move into Topshop stores shortly afterwards.
